Where's the Ball  by Tamela Roush
A praire-dog looks up and watches a ball
By the time the man gets here he can stash it for fall

And so it scurries to put it in a hole
Now the man cannot find it and that wasn't the goal

There's a rock over there by the lake so to speak
May-be it just hit that to land in the beach

But he sees it no-where it has probably drowned
So he drops two hits three and continues the round

This hole's a par four to make it on the green
And the club that he picked puts it right on the scene

With one foot to go to putt it in the hole
A Bogie's not bad if he putts light and slow

But over the hill the ball goes past the pin
Now the prarie-dog's standing and laughing at him

For the hole the ball went in was not on the green
But the home of the varmint now that was real mean

So he drops once again and hits six but this time
He double bodie's the hole and the next one was fine

Throughout that day he had a lot of hits and misses
When his game was over he sits back and reminisces

He remembers the first hole set him back with plus two
Trying to figure out his game but that prairie-dog knew

It was that varmint's fault that first hole ran his game
He's not hard on himself the praire-dog was to blame
